When co-founders John Howie and John Davies made the commitment to produce all-natural dog supplements, neither of them could have predicted just how successful Lintbells would be. Twelve years later, we are celebrating our second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, having won the first for Innovation in 2016.
The focus of the business has always been on the health and wellbeing of your pets. It was John Davies’ chocolate lab, Charlie, who was the inspiration for the business, and pet health has been at the heart of everything we’ve done since. Loving our furry friends is one of the things that unites pet-owners the world over, and we wanted to make sure that everyone could benefit from Lintbells’ unique supplements. This is one of the reasons why it’s so wonderful to receive such high praise for our International work.
We’ve also been commended for the support we give to everyone we work with – including our international distribution and third-party sales teams – and the way we have paid attention to localisation. We’re proud of the work we do to ensure that our supplements, packaging, and marketing conform to cultural expectations.
We’ve also extended our charitable support to the new regions we work in because giving back is an integral part of what we do. Ensuring that we engage charitably with local communities wherever we work is hugely important to all of us at Lintbells and something we take very seriously.
To celebrate our second Queen’s award, we organised a huge event near our headquarters in Weston, Hertfordshire. We welcomed back some of our first-ever customers – canine and human! – and our suppliers and retailers, along with the entire Lintbells team. It was a real celebration of everything we’ve achieved so far, and it gave us the opportunity to say thank you not only to the Lintbells team, but also the people who love their pets enough to make our products part of their lives.
John Howie, one of the Lintbells founders, was honoured to receive the award and proud to reflect on 12 years of Lintbells achievement:
“We’re delighted that our international growth has been recognised by such a prestigious award”, said John. “It’s always been our vision that Lintbells would grow in order to help better the lives of animals and the award reflects increasing brand recognition from pet owners around the world.”
He continued, “At the centre of our innovative products is a scientific focus ensuring the effectiveness of all our supplement ranges, which is why our products are so successful at supporting animals achieve a better quality of life.”
Our two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are treasured because, as a team, we work so hard on behalf of our customers and our pets. Every meeting we have is about how we can do things better – whether this means improving our existing supplements, looking into the potential for new supplements, or getting our message out there so we can help and support more animals. We’re proud of our second Queen’s award and proud every day to be working for customers who truly value the health and happiness of their pets.
So, watch this space. Who knows what’s coming next?
